How this site handles your information, and the terms you agree to by using it. Written in plain English on purpose.
Privacy policy
What we collect, and when
- Free practice tests: nothing. Your answers and scores are stored in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Premium purchase: your name, email address, and payment details. Payment is handled by Stripe through SureCart; we never see your full card number. We keep your email and purchase record so your access follows you between devices.
- Contact form and driving-school listings: what you type into the form, including your email address, so we can reply or publish the listing.
- Usage: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) and, if we have enabled it, Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits.
Advertising and affiliate links
Free pages may show advertising. Some ads are sold directly to driving schools and other businesses; others may be served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google Ads Settings. Premium members see no ads.
This site does not currently use affiliate links. If we add any in future, the page they appear on will say so, and buying through one will never cost you more.
How we use it and who sees it
We use your information only to run the site, deliver premium access, answer your messages, and publish listings you submit. We do not sell it. It is shared only with the services that make the site work: our web host, Stripe and SureCart for payments, and Google if analytics or AdSense are enabled.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept for as long as you have premium access and as long as tax rules require. Contact messages are kept for up to a year. Listings stay published until the school asks us to remove them.
Your choices
Email info@mvapracticetest.com to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. We answer within 30 days. You can block cookies in your browser; the free test still works without them.
Young drivers
Many of our visitors are 15 to 17, preparing for a learner's permit. The free test collects nothing from them. Premium purchases must be made by an adult. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13; if you think we have, email us and we will delete it.
Terms of use
What this site is
This site is privately run and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration. Our questions are original study aids written to the Maryland Driver's Manual. They are not the MVA's test questions, and passing here does not guarantee passing at the MVA. Rules change; the manual and the MVA are the final word.
Premium
- Premium is a one-time payment of $24.99. There is no subscription and no renewal.
- Access is for one person and is tied to the account created at checkout. Please do not share your login.
- Access lasts for as long as the site operates. If we ever shut the site down, we will give at least 30 days notice.
- Refunds: if premium is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.
Driving-school listings and advertising
Listings are submitted by the schools themselves, and each school is responsible for keeping its details accurate, including its MVA certification. A listing is not an endorsement. We may edit or remove any listing or ad at any time. Sponsored listings and ads are always labelled.
Using the site
You may use the site for your own study. Do not copy the questions, scrape the site, or resell access. The questions and explanations are ours. Road sign images are the standard designs from the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, which are in the public domain.
Limits
We work hard to keep the questions accurate, but the site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
Changes
If we change these terms or this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
